Youth

BECOME A MEMBER
Our summer program is free for all of Portland’s diverse youth.  Membership requires only participation in some form of community building project throughout the summer.  Check out our year-round volunteer club, or go to one of the Portland Housing Authority’s Study Centers to learn more.

YOUTH INTERNSHIPS
Occasionally we have the resources to provide internships for youth over the age of 13. These positions are limited by funding and availability of mentors. CHEETA internships focus on developing leadership and 21st century skills of participating youths as they identify community needs and develop projects to address them.

For more information, contact CHEETA staff directly at  cheetaproject@gmail.com.

VOLUNTEER
CHEETA has a variety of needs that can be filled by volunteers interested in helping out on a given day.  If you have little time but are still interested in helping in some way, we will work with you to find a position and time that fits your needs.

TEACH A CLASS
Have a particular skill or trade you’d like to share?  We are always looking for Workshop instructors who can teach a class to our members.  Academic tutoring, dance classes, cooking, and more.  If interested, contact us right away!

BECOME A STAFF MEMBER
Sometimes the programs and projects designed by the youth create opportunities or needs for staff.  Stipends are available when grants provide, but internship credit is always available if your Academic Department is willing to work with us.
